William C. Guy, PhD
Dr. Guy is a licensed psychologist who is a staff psychologist and outpatient training director at Clarity Child Guidance Center. He provides predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship supervision in both psychological assessment and therapy. He also is part of a group private practice that sees outpatient children, adolescents, and adults part-time. Dr. Guy completed his master’s and PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Detroit-Mercy. He completed his predoctoral internship and University of Texas Health Science Center and started his career at Clarity as a postdoctoral fellow before becoming a staff psychologist. Dr. Guy’s training history includes clinical research within the department of pediatric neurology working with children with histories of early deprivation, Sturge-weber syndrome, Tourette’s, and intellectual disabilities. Dr. Guy also spent one year in the department of pediatric urology conducting assessments on children with voiding dysfunction.
Current clinical interests include psychological and neurocognitive assessment, parent-child interactions, psychodynamic psychotherapy, family therapy, and LGBTQ issues in adolescent and adult populations. He is an active member in the Bexar County Psychological Association (BCPA), the local San Antonio chapter of Div. 53 (Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology) and Div. 39 (Society for Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychology). Dr. Guy also is an active member of the society for personality assessment (SPA). Dr. Guy enjoys weight training and physical fitness, college sports, and spending time outdoors.
